Sushi
is a small pad of cold cooked vinegared rice wrapped in seaweed, topped or wrapped with slices of raw or cooked fish, egg, or vegetables with wasabi. Sushi is usually divided into three categories depending on how it is prepared:
  • Sashimi (raw)-sliced raw fish.
  • Maki (rolled) is a strip of fish or vegetable rolled in rice and wrapped in dried seaweed.
  • Nigiri (pressed) is a slice of fish pressed by hand onto a pad of rice
